Switched to Photobucket halfway through. Ehe. )

In other news, I fail timing forever and still need to get my sleeping schedule back on track.  I have a new laptop charger, which is awesome.  Classes start on the 17th, which is less awesome.

...I had way more to say, but then I forgot it all.  WELL.  Time to... go be productive now.  Hopefully.  >__>

But first, my return to America!

So here's the final tally for travel time:

-4 hour drive to Manila
-5 hour wait in airport
-3.5 hour flight to Nagoya
-1 hour wait in airport
-11.5 hour flight to Detroit
-8 hour wait in airport
-+1 hour due to delay
-1 hour flight home

The rest is negligible due to it feeling like I was already home. So add that all up, and you've got... 35 hours of traveling! The worst parts were the wait in Manila and the monster flight, though, as Detroit's airport is enormous. The one hallway I was confined to was a mile and a quarter long, with over a hundred stores, and that was just Concourse A.  But that flight!  You guys, why does the Pacific Ocean have to be so big?

Also, it was 1 AM on the 30th when I arrived in Manila, and 10 PM on the 30th when I arrived in the airport at home. Longest day of my life!

Haru-Sari and lolz. )
northeasternwind: (Chapter)
I got it for like six dollars at the zoo the other day.  LOL.  I can actually use it, too!  It goes about... thirty feet, ahaha.  I can't pull it back all the way, of course, because contrary to popular belief you need a lot of muscles in places other than your arms to pull back a bow (and I don't trust this bow's integrity enough to do so anyway), but it's fun.  The arrows aren't very pointed, of course, but my sister hit a chicken with one. XD;

Apparently we're going to go see Captain America today.  All I need are my Iron Man and Thor allusions, and I'm good!  I'm pretty sure Tony's father is in it, actually, so it's just Thor.  Yay.

So we're leaving the house in the morning on the 29th, and the plane actually leaves at 6:30 AM on the 30th.  So, uh, that'd be about 4:30 PM on the 29th in my own timezone...  Should get home about 24 hours later.  Ack.  But yeah, I'm going home soon!  And then I'll have properly refrigerated milk and my own bed!  ...But no kittens.  ;___;  Speaking of which, one of the neighbors' dogs showed up and bit Cookie, and he was dragging his leg for the rest of the day.  He was perfectly capable of walking yesterday, though, so I hope it was nothing too serious.  Until then, bad doggies!

And, of course, other things. )

Why am I awake at six in the morning.

So yesterday we drove for like an hour and a half to get to the nearest grocery store (no, seriously) in Subic Bay Freeport.  And ate lunch there.  Some questions I never thought I would have to ask (again):

"If this island is smaller than Lake Michigan, why is it taking so long to drive across?
"Are speedbumps usually a foot and a half tall?"
"You mean your dogs will eat your goats if you don't tie them up?"
"Why won't they eat your chickens instead?"
"Why the heck did they put all the chips in the American Food section?"
"So your speedometer is broken?"
"Why isn't there a speed limit?"
"Was that a 13-year-old kid on a motorcycle just now?"
"But he doesn't have a license...?"
"What, so that's legal?"
"Can I drive yours? 8D"
"Why do they put signs with such blatant lies around here?"
"They don't refrigerate milk in the grocery store?"
"How come cell phones are like a hundred dollars cheaper here?"
"...Wait, why are the prices in American dollars in the first place?"
"So in this country, it's legal to walk into a public restaurant in full military uniform carrying a machine gun bigger than you are?"

Yes, lunch was... kinda distracting with those soldiers around.  LOLOLOL.  My sister ended up taking a photo of them for laughs when we got home, but yeah. XD

Also, being attacked by mosquitoes! XD; Tropical islands in the Pacific, man.  I'll try to have photos of things up later.
northeasternwind: (Default)
Dad said we wouldn't be stopping in Japan this time, but here we are.  In Nagoya again.  LOLOLOL.  At least they have free internet, though, friggin' Detroit and your fee nonsense.

Yes, my little sister and mom ended up packing the laptop after all. WHY AM I SO UNINFORMED.

The longest part of the flight (Detroit to Nagoya) is over, huzzaaaah.  Now it's just a two hour wait and then a couple more hours to Manila, where we'll drive home.

So yeah, I (re)discovered several things today:

-Plane food still fails.  My stomach, ow.
-The top of my sister's head is very comfy and a good place to take a nap.  Seriously, she was knocked out on my shoulder and we were both so tired, I barely remember liftoff.  LOL.
-Airplanes are obligated to show a ton of crappy movies and then one good movie, which they promptly cut off for an inadequately explained reason.
-Turbulence is kinda fun, but it hurts my already sour appetite.
-Japan is kinda awesome.

So we barely got any sleep and are unlikely to get much more until we arrive in Manila, and hopefully we'll be able to sleep in the car XD

I shall be checking all my stuff right now, but I'm not sure how much of it I'll get to before we have to leave again/laptop runs out of battery.  See you guys later!  ...Again.

Farewell!

YOU GUYS BEST FRIEND/NEIGHBOR CAME BACK TODAY OMG SUCH AWESOME TIMING 8DD Except now we will not see her again for a mooonth. Aaaaw. But yes, I didn't think I'd even get to see her before we left! ^0^

My sister and I spent today with our dad at Holy Hill. Yes, again. I love that place, man, it's probably the highest spot in our part of the state, and in flat, flat Wisconsin, you can see everything from the top of the Scenic Tower. I've ranted about this place a lot, so I'll just say that we saw an ADORABLE BABY CHIPMUNK and leave it at that.

So yesterday my sister and I went on a GRAND QUEST to go see the third LotR movie at the mall.  Quest because we had no money and no ride, both of which we managed to procure by pleading with our older brother to watch it with us and our grandmother somehow being a psychic and deciding to lend us money.

And so, at seven o' clock, my sister, brother and I set out to watch an awesome four-hour-long movie that we didn't even know existed back when it first came out.  And it was so awesome.  Dude, man, there were tons of extra scenes and the battle of Pelennor Fields and you guys, Theoden's final charge was so epic I could have cried.

Also, my sister has apparently been way more obsessed with Thor than I thought, as she found a pair of awesome fanfics apparently written by Terry Pratchett's Jedi Apprentices, as well as a TON of GIFs.  She's saved a lot of GIFs that have nothing to do with Thor, too, so I have brought them here for you today to enjoy as a farewell gift.  Three guesses who her favorite character is, LOLOLOL.

Cut for LOLs )

I'm leaving the house at eight in the morning tomorrow, so until I arrive in the Philippines I shall be MISSING BAAAW.

See you guys later!
northeasternwind: (Default)
Six days you guuuuuuys.  I can't decide whether I'm excited or not.  I want to see everyone and go to the Philippines and everything, but... this is sort of going to eat up the rest of my summer.  Classes start halfway through August.

...Aw man, all the pretty flowers are going to bloom while I'm away!  Sadface.

Also, my little sister and I went to go see LotR: The Two Towers in the movie theater the other day.  It was four hours long, LOLOLOL, and as it was the extended version, there were a ton of scenes I'd never seen before.  And also Boromir's Rock Into Mordor scene, LOL.  But yes, Helm's Deep!  I love that battle, and especially the ending.  Theoden is just... the coolest fictional king ever.  Ignoring Aragorn, who spends most of the book not being king.

So yeah, I finished Eternal Sonata.  Some things:

CHOPIN LASER )

...Man, I really need to decide the outcome of my part in the Mu event, so I can start tagging people again.
northeasternwind: (Default)
And how did I spend it?

At Holy Hill.  Yes, again.  Those 176 stairs don't get any easier to climb...  But I have an awesome postcard of the place surrounded by autumn trees and all the red and orange and it's so pwetty!  And I have two inspirational cards.  One is titled "Desiderata".

But anyway, there are mah-jong people over at my house, again, and they still expect me to go to sleep at ten and wake up at six.  Feh.  And I have absolutely no supplies, so I hope my mechanical pencil has plenty of lead in it >_>

Oh, by the way.  4-E-3, I love you.  You're fun.

Even though I've restarted about ten times...  Sometimes not even because someone died, but because I realized that I forgot to equip someone's best weapon, supports, BXP up Soren to lv 20...  If I BXP him, he ends up with all stats maxed :D  But having to restart over and over again is irritating.

And my cousins are now into the Phoenix Wright series, yay.

northeasternwind: (reyson)
It's as awesome as it was the last time I was there.

After being able to hang out in Poseidon's Rage longer then ten minutes, I can conclude with greater certainty that it is the best wavepool in the world, period.  The shallow end of the pool is actually more dangerous than the deep end XD  The chance of hurting yourself decreases as the depth increases.  In the deep end, if the wave breaks late enough you can ride to the top and look down at all the people and go "Wow, this wave looks even taller from the top."

We went back to inform our other two cousins that there was another wave pool that was much more awesome than the one they were in, and came back.  My oldest cousin's reaction to getting in the pool and seeing the difference between Tidal Wave! and Poseidon's Rage went something like this:

"WHAT THE @#$%?!  WHAT THE @#$%?!  WHAT THE @#$%?!"

I love that wavepool and stand by my earlier statement that it is actually worth waiting around for the waves XD

Ate us some KFC! :) KFC is tasty, made even tastier by the fact that we were all pooped and seriously couldn't walk anymore.  And then we became un-pooped and let Poseidon's Rage toss us around some more XD  My sister noted that the waterpark was less tiring than the theme park.

Didn't get to go on the Hades again, though ;__;  I wanted to take my sister, but she didn't feel so good after the Zeus, so we left.  Ah well.

Have scrapes on my elbow from sitting in the shallow end of Poseidon's Rage and being blown onto my back about twenty feet.  Ow.

northeasternwind: (Phoenix)
This morning my mom walked into my bedroom, turned on the lights and said:

"You guys better wake up, we're going to Kentucky."

Me: Mmmmfffffwhaaaa?
Sister: Mom, you can't just walk in here and--- why didn't you tell us last night?

Because it wasn't planned until that morning, it turns out XD  So we all jumped into the car(s) with our visiting Aunt and Uncle (the same ones we just visited in New York, ironically) and drove to Kentucky.

There was traffic.

And when we got there at about ten at night, it was really, really dark.  And they live out there.  My family minus my grandma (Lola from now on, same explanation as Kuya and Ate) were following my aunt and uncle's car, and they just kept u-turning and u-turning and u-turning and by the time we actually found their driveway my mom, sister and I were in tears.  From laughing.  Because we had no idea what the heck they were doing.

Well, we're here now, and their house is freaking sweet and they have a piano, and three dogs, and a pool, and so far they've been very generous.   We're leaving tomorrow night, so hopefully the traffic will be better.  Aunt and Uncle are going straight to New York again from here.  Kinda wish they'd brought my cousins with them, but they had to work.

So yeah.  Tomorrow should be awesome fun.

Oh.  By the way, I just wanted to get something off my chest.

OI.  PELLS.

MICAIAH =/= THIRD PARTY.

northeasternwind: (tears)
Noooooooo! ;__;

It's either somewhere along the shore of Lake Taghkanic or in the hands of some random beach-goer who decided to take it along with my slippers and my little sister's shoes >_>

It was the sweater that I swear was gray when I got it, but it got bleached and now if I ask anyone what color it is they say it's pink. In other words, it's the sweater I'm wearing in my profile picture on FB. I've had that thing since the sleeves were way too long for my arms, and I'm really going to miss it. If you know me in real life, you also know that I never go anywhere without a sweater of some sort. I think I have some sort of aversion to showing my skinny friggin' arms to the world XD I need to eat more.

"And the moral of the story is, don't wear sweaters in the summer." -[livejournal.com profile] helsayx. My little sister has an LJ now, but she doesn't use it. Ah well.

And we didn't even actually go swimming, but I can't complain because I didn't want to.  My sis and I skipped stones instead, which became even more fun when a trio of kids near us went, "What're you doin'?" and we taught them how to skip stones ^^  And we spent our time skipping stones with them.  Must spread the knowledge!

So we went home without shoes. Bleh. I didn't use the computer when we got back because my sister, cousin and I spent the night watching Deadliest Catch. The things those guys get into! It's a pretty interesting show. And our parents went to go see fireworks, because it was the fourth. Me/sister/Cousin happened to know that it was just random people illegally setting off fireworks, but no.

"Okay. I'm going to school to become a police officer, and this--- Here is the best advice I can give you. If you get arrested, don't--say--ANYTHING. They'll say, 'Tell the truth and I can help you--' No. Don't say anything. Just go, 'I want my attorney.'" - Cousin. The younger one.

And no, we did not get the chance to go see Public Enemies bowling. I think the adults planned that XD

Driving from New York to Wisconsin = not fun. I wish this were Germany, where there is no speed limit.   We left for home at about 12:10 the next morning, lunchtime.  I'm pretty sure this was the last time we're going to stay in my cousins' house in New York, because I've been told that they have to move to Florida pretty soon.  The younger cousin has promised to come over here in a year/after December when he gets out of school so he can watch out for us.  Read, beat up any boys that come within three feet of us.  Not that he needs to do that for my sister, she's got it covered on her own.  Still, I'm going to miss them both...

We got home at 5 this morning, and it was very annoying when I had to change my bedsheets before going to sleep >_> Should've done it before we left. But I'm home!  Woke up at 12 today which is actually par the course whenever I don't have school XD and had nothing to do.

BUT.

BUTBUTBUT my best friend/neighbor came home from North Carolina two days before we did and we are in the same place for the first time in like a month! ^.^ And she has a sand dollar! And it's so cool! Andandand we are a trio once more! And I ended every sentence in this paragraph with an exclamation point!

...But of course, we emptied out the fridge before leaving, so my sis spent most of today whining about how there was absolutely nothing in the house to eat until Mom and Dad came home from grocery shopping. We had ramen and mac/cheese for breakfast.

Phone: *aringadingding*
Sis: Hello?
Mom: Hi, what's for dinner today?
Sis: Well, that's a good question, Mom!

My sister's whining is usually funny enough for me to put up with, and of course I got to share it with best friend/neighbor, so it was all good.  Best friend/neighbor spends like 50% of her wake time here, so we're all used to each other ^^

I'm home, I have access to all my stuff, I have food, my friend is back, I'm happy, and I can finally say something I'm sure many of my classmates have wanted to hear since I announced it had to be postponed due to the New York trip.

Who wants to go to the Dells with me?!

Blargh.

I had a huge, massive plunnie for Inoke and Gackt inspired by Chikuto/Venus Tenshi's YGO oneshot revolving around the pharoah and Joey, but it's like twelve midnight and I am currently one of two people awake in the house, the other being my older cousin who is currently playing Magic the Gathering on the Xbox 360 somewhere to my left.  It's retardedly addicting...

I skipped right to the scene I had the plunnie for, and I've got it saved as a draft on Yahoo so I can get at it no matter what computer I'm on, as long as there is internet.  A smartie is I.

Except that we're going to a lake or something early tomorrow morning and leaving New York the next day <_<  So I dunno when I'll get the chance to finish and post it.  Bah.

To make this post worth reading, I shall now inform you of something nifty I learned I while ago.  Do you know what calcium carbide is?  It's a chemical compound with an interesting property; it ignites when it comes into contact with water.

My cousins have Assassin's Creed. I finished it within three days. I thought it was awesome and the repetitiveness didn't even bother me, at all. But I didn't talk to Lucy, so the ending left me more in the dark than The World Ends With You's ending >_>

AND GEARS OF WAR DOESN'T WORK NOOO

My cousin says he's going to take us to go see Public Enemies "bowling" this week, and I can't wait ^^ It's going to be so much fun. We went to the Science Museum in New Jersey yesterday. It would have been more fun if we stayed longer than an hour <_< But that's okay.

After over 24 hours of driving, I am finally in my home away from home in Beacon, New York.  Spent most of the drive sleeping.  And playing a card game with my sister.  How are you supposed to spell that?  Tong-it?  My mom and her friends spend most of their party time playing either that or mah-jong, so it was nice to finally learn what they're doing.

It only took 24 hours because we took a detour to Niagara Falls, though.  Wow.  You come up on the observation deck, and you see the nearest part of the falls, and you say "Well that's not SO impressive."

And then you take the Maid of the Mist boat tour.  They give you these weird blue raincoat things, and in the summer it's like you're wearing a garbage bag!  And my dad took his hat with him, lol  They take you to the real Niagara Falls, and holy frogzard droppings Batman.  My hood fell off and I got drenched.

Those falls are much more impressive when you're looking up at them from the bottom.

And there was this big rock that we got to climb yay.

We bought a yo-yo at the gift shop, along with a vial of 24 karat gold.  It isn't much, but it sure looks pretty.

And there is internet, yay!  So there will be fun.  Except that we didn't bring any game systems this time around, so FE will have to wait until we get back.

...Okay, I can't think of anything else to say >_>  But my cousin's house has been my New York home for five years, at least, at I'm going to be sad when they move away.

northeasternwind: (tears)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KUYA ^^  My older brother is all grown up now, lol.

Did not get time to type up Breaking the Ice today because of large amounts of siblings.  Two XD  And I lost my new notebook!  It didn't have much in it though, except for chapter 3 of Lead Me to Heaven and a short FE/FFVII crossover thing involving the Blood Pact.  And now it'll be two weeks before I can look for them.  Wah...

Dunno how the gang would end up on Tellius, but I'm sure they'd side with the Alliance if they somehow got involved.  Seriously, you don't have to murder the messenger!  The senators needed a whooping.

And I think we're leaving for New York pretty soon.  We're driving, which will take a while as I live in the mid-western Great Lakes area.  We bought snacks to eat along the way, but I ate up all the sour cream and onion chips today <_<  They're just so tasty...

...BUT I get to see my two awesome cousins and there will be hugs and YAYs.

But it's even hotter up there, and I will probably come home with many, maaany mosquito bites.  Blah.

But I can deal ^^ And now I can go waaaay up to the top of the Statue of Liberty!  Yay!  And there is internet access, but I'm not sure if I'll be using that, lol.

"Do you know how absurd you sound?  The enemy did not build the fortress so they could stand outside of it."

I did, in fact, finish Part Two of FE10.  I seriously would NOT have had the strength to watch my closest friend hang to death, even if I was queen and that was the best thing to do.  I mean, Ike showed up to save the day, but still.

And LOL at Skrimir being an incompetent general.  The above quote was said by Soren, the resident tactical genius.
